Chanel’s black and gold russian handbag was made for the Paris-Russia pre-fall 2009 show and won’t be available until mid-May. The doll got all the attention it needed when Vogue Russia made 100 designers create a one-off hand-painted doll for the celebrations of the 10th anniversary of the magazine http://www.stylebyme.net/2008/11/12/designed-matrioshka-for-russian-vogue/. Karl Lagerfeld took this idea and created a Matrioshka handbag for Chanel instead which will be one of this summers “must have” bag for the one who can afford. I love the doll, it’s very cute and I guess I don’t have to add that I love Chanel handbags. But when you mix them up…I’m not quite convinced yet, I might have to see the bag in reality. And my second thought is how hard it must be to pull of the bag without looking hilarious. And with the hefty price of £4200 for an item you only can wear rarely, it feels like an awful lot of money. Celebes like Lily Allen has proudly already been seen wearing the doll. Sorry, meant the bag…
