Dean and Dan Caten, the twin duo behind Dsquared2 is famous for their sexy sportswear and their fashion house is built around this theme. But with their Fall 2010 show, they surprised the audience by going in a whole different direction. This collection was actually as far away as the Dsquared label we all know and adore. Kinky latex leggins in red was accompanied by different versions of sexy blacks. Leather biker jackets, fur, tight body-con numbers and a general tight, short and nude style was shown on the catwalk. I’m not sure what my reaction to this collection is. Because of the big talent behind it, I’m almost trying to convince myself to like it, but I still don’t. Details like skeleton hands gripping different body-parts as the shoulders didn’t convince me either. After seeing so many “sexy” shows during MFW, I was hoping that the Caten brothers wouldn’t walk down the same line. I’m not convinced at all, more disappointed in fact.

DEAN AND DAN AS THE TESTIMONIES FOR THE LAUNCH OF THE NEW MINI COUNTRYMAN
Milano 13th April 2010 – Dean and Dan’s current “Camping” collection is the
perfect match for the MINI Countryman, so the successful Canadian duo had a
relatively straightforward task.
As well as packing in a range of outdoor kit from the collection, such as a
rucksack, travel bag, camouflage peaked cap with buttons, and wellies, they slid a
canoe onto the roof of the MINI Countryman. An umbrella, lantern, fishing rod,
picnic basket and guitar round off the equipment list for the custom-made Dsquared2 Getaway.
During the Salone del Mobile the display window of the flagshipDsquared2 store in Milan will be
given over to the “MINI Countryman – Urban meets Country” theme.
