Blumarine Fall 2010 show doesn’t need the most detailed description. It was more or less black and zebra prints and if you throw in a handfull of mixed animal patterns and crop the dresses to super-short (undies on show) you might get the picture. Leather trench-coats, fringes, suede-pieces, more and more animal prints (python, leopard) was the staple of the collection. Blumarine’s latest show didn’t impress me at all. To be honest, the only feeling I had when leaving was that the looks was just too sexy. Over-the-top sexy, to a grade when it almost becomes something else. Don’t want to be rude and call it porno, but hey, it wasn’t far from it. This is as far as you can possibly come from what Blumarine used to create and deliver. This was one of those shows I was really looking forward to. Before the show started, Cerf de Dudzeele declared “J’adore it all. It’s for the kind of girl a man wants to follow in the street”. I’m not the one who have to be convinced, I’m sure those short-short dresses will make all the men follow you. Unfortunately I’m not the one who have to let me undies peek out to create that effect. At the moment, all I can do is hope that Blumarine will get their heads clear and give us what we really want next season. Hopefully with a pinch of that Blumarine sparkle.
