Marc Jacobs fall 2010 show was more about showing us that it doesn’t always have to be new and shocking to be good. I won’t even try to express myself by describing for you how refreshing it is to see a collection like this in times where the most crazy outfit wins. The show was all about “good, old times” and my first thought was that the clothes remind me of chic grandmother meets Angelina Jolie in the movie Challenging. Very 20′s, very strict and tailored but still with a touch of girlie innocence. Old-time chic with a twist of Marc added to it, is definitely a recipe for success. It’s like a breeze of fresh air to see a collection that brings us back in time, where we feel familiar and doesn’t have to stick out so much. Last seasons, it’s been all about the future and I’m really sick and tired of Gaga fever.Marc Jacobs doesn’t have to try so hard, and he really shows it here. The clothes are very romantic with neutrals and pastels in pale shades dominating the catwalk from beginning to end. Even the make-up and hair feels very natural and nude. Love the mix of romance meets means-wear and the heavy difference between the pale colors and the small hints of black and fur. The furs and three-quarter length skirts t as well as the 3-piece suit in grey was the high-light of the show. The Marc Jacobs girl showed us that stylish is all about those small details and being underestimated. I can’t help but feeling nostalgic when viewing this collection.
