I just finished reading the very talked-about “The One Hundred” by Nina Garcia and I must say that it was very fun reading the book. I think it’s well written and very interesting.

The book presents 100 pieces that is a must have according to Nina. I would agree with many of the items and I would say that a few of them is less important to have.

I’m traveling around the world at the moment and I’m only having 2 (pretty big) bags with me. Since I’m very limited and can only choose my favorite items to bring with me on the trip I have realized what’s more important to bring.

The most important pieces that I agree with Nina on is of course the jeans, LBD, trench, high-heels, ballet flats, bikini OR one-piece bathing suit, any bag, (mans)- white shirt, sun glasses, summer dresses, tops, pencil-(or other model)-skirt, accessories and underwear : )

My tip if your going to travel and want to be prepared for unpredictable weather is to be cleaver and think wide. With that I mean to bring pieces that can be used a few times without feeling boring. Always bring key pieces like jeans, black trousers, black blazer, black stilettos and similar things that can be used over and over again and is perfect to match with more colorful clothes.

A dress can be used during the day with fun accessories, flats, big handbag and easily be switched to a evening outfit by exchanging the accessories and wear the dress with stilettos, a perfect suited blazer, more make-up so on, so on.

If you’re on a budget (difference from Nina) spend more money on long-lasting timeless things like a blazer, trench, jeans, handbags etc. and spend less on trendy items and things that will only work for one season!

Another tip is to only update your accessories every season to look cool and trendy. Look through vintage stores and buy things you like that’s not in fashion. Those items is the one’s that will always work. Make sure your style is really “You” and don’t try to copy others. And my most important tip is to always make sure you feel comfortable in the clothes your in. Don’t ever by anything that don’t flatter your body. You have to feel gorgeous in your outfit to actually look gorgeous!

I think Nina’s book in general was really fun to read and it’s always nice to see someone else’s perspective on fashion. I don’t believe in rules on how you dress nice. Nothing looks good on everyone and things that suit me, don’t necessary have to suit you and the other way around of course.
