Are your wardrobe getting smaller and smaller because of things (un-used and un-wanted) taking up the precious space? Then you need to take a day off and get your wardrobe cleaned out! It’s easier said than done but you have to realize when and if it has to be done.
There’s no reason to keep those old favorite pieces that you haven’t been using for years. You will not miss them. If you like them as much as you’re trying to convince yourself, why haven’t you been using them?
They are probably not ugly, and seriously, it doesn’t have to be anything wrong about them either. It’s just that you are not using them so there must be something. If a dress is ill-fitted, if it doesn’t bring out the best of you or if it flaunts your less prideful body-parts, you will not use it. Simple as that.
I usually clean out my wardrobe every season. Don’t be ridiculous, of course I don’t throw out a big part of my clothes every season but I clean it. I go through what I have in there and I sorted everything out. The things I will not be using for the coming months, because of the weather, will be stashed in boxes and the things that have been hanging in the wardrobe for a very long time without being used will get a new home.
The clothes that are to small or too big or just doesn’t suit me, might be taken to the tailor but to be honest, most of these things is just not me. I might have bought them on impulse or falsely fell for them in the store and not felt the same love for them after a time.
Be picky and be hard on yourself. If you’re being too kind, everything will remain as it was when you started the cleaning, and that’s not the point.

You want to leave space for the clothes you actually like and use. The clothes that makes you feel fab and the pieces that will save your day. to be able to find these pieces they have to be visible in the wardrobe. And when you have crap laying in there, you will simply not find this adorable things.
Make sure that everything is hanging nicely and that you actually will see all your clothes in the wardrobe when your finished with the cleaning. That’s kind of the whole point. You must see what you got in there. I promise you that the chance that you will find things that you really like but that you forgot that you owned is pretty big.
