Diane von Fürstenberg was born December 31, 1946 in Brussels, Belgium. She began designing woman’s clothes in 1970 and inspired her ex-husband to start design as well which he began with in 1974. Fürstenberg was discovered when she introduced the “wrap dress” in 1973. Because of this dress big influence on woman’s fashion, you can today find this dress as part of the collection of the Costume institute in the Metroplitan Museum of Art. 1991 Fürstenberg started her home-shopping business and was at that time also successful with a line of cosmetics. Diane Von Fürstenberg is today one of the biggest names when it comes to fashion designers.
